AluminumOne is a Secondary Aluminum Production Facility subject to the requirements of 40 CFR 63.1500 (NESHAP/MACT) as an area source of Harzardous Air Pollutants (HAPs). An area source is not a major source for HAPs. Hydorchloric acid (HCL) is the only HAP being emitted besides Dioxins/Furans compounds. The MACT (Maximum Achievable Control Technology) standards place EPA permit restrictions on Secondary Aluminum Processing Plants. As required under MACT rules, AluminumOne has prepared an Operation, Maintenance and Monitoring plan; a Malfunction plan; and a Startup and Shutdown plan. These three plans all accompany our "state of the art" baghouse system for our furnace emissions, which accurately record and document pollutants, pressure drops and leak detection. AluminumOne is proud to report that all of our emissions continue to be within MACT guidelines and all of our reports to the Ohio EPA are accurate and timely filed. Further, an addition to our ISO 9001:2000 certification, AluminumOne is pleased to announce that, effective September 14, 2007, we are ISO 14001:2004 compliant. AluminumOne has always been committed to state of the art environmental, health and safety management systems. Our recent ISO 14001:2004 certification is a major step in compliance focused environmental management. The ability to meet and achieve compliance with environmental regulations is an organizational effort. All of our employees are trained and made aware of the key environmental issues that will increase efficiency, promote proper use of energy and raw materials and properly reduce waste. In meeting the ISO 14001:2004 standard, we have documented operational control procedures to cover situations where their absence could lead to deviations from the environmental objectives and have a harmful impact on the environment. |
